Our new Christian visitor dhc21 (aka “snowflake”) seems to having some trouble understanding how we can calculate the age of the Earth using the Biblical information. So using simple arithmetic, we can calculate the age of the Earth to be: 4004 BCE (the moment of creation) + 2019 CE (the present year) = 6,023 years. Thus, according to the Bible, the Earth is a little over 6,000 years old. Only that much has gone by since the beginning of creation.

I think it’s quite an insensitive and condescending way to talk to those poor mentally handicapped folks who are notorious for not knowing the answer to 1+1+1
