Nigerian Imam Saves Hundreds of Christians

This is a great story and an example for all people.  Thanks goes to brother Peter Cunliffe for informing me about this:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-44657339

Some excerpts from the BBC article:

They say they came under attack at about 15:00 (14:00 GMT) from about 300 well-armed men – suspected cattle herders, who are mostly Muslims – who started shooting sporadically and burning down their homes.

Some of those who managed to escape ran towards the mainly Muslim neighbourhood nearby where the imam lived, arriving over the next hour.

The cleric immediately came to their aid, hiding in total 262 men, women and children in his home and mosque.

This was the latest wave of violence to hit Nigeria’s central region where farming communities and nomadic cattle herders often clash – usually over access to land and grazing rights.

The region is prone to religious tension – herders are ethnic Fulani and mostly Muslim, while the farmers are mostly Christian from the Berom ethnic group.

Hundred of people have been killed in 2018, and the tit-for-tat violence has been ongoing for several years. A report from 2016 suggested Nigeria’s pastoral conflict was the cause of more deaths that year than Boko Haram.

When the attackers heard that the villagers had fled towards the mosque, they demanded that the imam bring out those he was hiding.

But the defenceless imam refused to comply – and also refused to allow them entry to the mosque.

He began to plead with the herdsmen, who were threatening to burn down the mosque and his house.

Those whose lives were saved by the imam expressed their gratitude and relief.

“Ever since they took us into the mosque, not once did they ask us to leave, not even for them to pray,” said the local chief.

“They provided dinner and lunch for us and we are grateful.”

The villagers stayed with the imam for five days – and have since moved to a camp for displaced people.

Not sure why you are boasting about this. While it’s great that some muslims disobey their god and don’t follow mohammed’s sinful examples to the letter – because he was sinful – the sad fact is that 1 out of thousands is a poor ratio.

The fruits of islam are reflected in the actions of the militias.

    1. i don’t understand you people . what do you say about the butchering of pregnant women, disabled , infants and sick? jesus did not condemn the hebrews for taking the sword and ripping out unborn from the wombs. what is wrong with you people? what did europe do to the jews? they killed 6 million jews and the religion in europe was christianity. christian soldiers went to the jews and killed 6 million of them. look at what happen in bosnia, christian soldiers again. what is wrong with you people ? why are christians in government ? you know why ? turning the other cheek is not for governing authorities and jesus did never go to governing people and tell them to put away the sword. as crosstians thought they were representives of jebus, they used verses like “compel them to come in”
“i have not come to bring peace but sword”
      “jews are by nature liars”
      to kill and destroy.

    2. Bwahaha, so Coco is back for some more humiliation? You ran away after your last beating, so back for more eh?

The imam represents the true teachings of Islam. You see Coco, unlike your pagan Canaanite god and his minions, Allah and His Prophet were humane in their treatment of non-Muslims. The fruits of Christianity are well known to everyone who knows history: the dark ages, the Crusades, the religious wars of Europe etc.

        @ Joel
This is an immature argument ant the prime example, of the pot calling the kettle black. None of these militias hold a candle to Joshua’s conquest of the Holy Land (which could make ISIS blush) Literally EVERY battle in the Bible I’ve read so far involved murdering women and children. We have never once done this in anytime during the life of the Prophet(saw). And according to Christian teachings, Jesus will commit the same genocides that are praised throughout the Bible. For a good read on the topic I recommend Danios article here:

I was thinking since Paulus brags about the West and it’s benefits and takes them as a prime example of Christian nations. Okay let’s humor this and ignore the secularism, that means Christian civilization is the only nation in known history to have the distinction of wiping out THREE continents worth of people(North America, South America and Australia) Congradgulations?

      2. Yeah exactly! But then Cerbie will backtrack and say “well that was the secular west and it has nothing to do with Christianity”. Lol! The only good crosstian is an inconsistent one!

your coment is tu quoque – you are avoiding the issue with your religion. Stop the deflections bro.

Mohammed was a sinner – your satanic god says so – and you guys are commanded to follow his example in all things. Thus you are commanded by your god to sin.

Mohammed killed and maimed christians, jews, pagans, children, and blessed the killing of the elderly, children and the rape of captives. Which of these beheaviours would you agree is exemplary and which would you follow? Which ones have you followed? If you haven’t, why? Which of these actions of mohammed were sins? Where in the quran does it say not to find mohammed’s sins exemplary?

        q and bs

The true teachings of islam are derived from the actions and words of your prophet. You venerate a human being whom your god states unequivocally was a sinner who needed forgiveness. Thus you are commanded to sin. Maybe you can tell us what actions of mohammed’s were sins? And why are you commanded by “god” to view these as good examples for all time?

      5. Lol, there goes Coco’s runaway logic. First of all, you’re on the wrong topic. Second of all, Muhammad (pbuh) treated even his enemies humanely as opposed to your satanic god and his minions. You idiots have to answer for your shameful religion. Muslims have nothing to answer for.

hhahaha pagan crap head , we would rather follow “sinner” than worship a false pagan “innocent” jew who goes around killing innocent fig trees, using violence on innocent pilgrims who came to do torah mandated practice, call a woman and her sick daughter , dogs, abuse authority and kill animals FOR NO REASON….we would rather follow “sinner” than worship pagan meat god. we will tell you again and again, jesus of christianity is DEAD to us.

For the sake of argument even if we assume that somehow he was a sinner then what? He wasn’t like “come on mate, let’s go out and sin yeah…” Ironically the Hadith that Jesusians use apparently points out (iirc) he was “seeking refuge” or “seeking Forgiveness”, either way basic logic tells us he was trying to stay away from sins and infact this is what Muslims are supposed to do instead of sinning intentionally…cough cough Moses was a sinner according to the bible so was God on crack when he appointed him as a prophet? So according to Jesusian logic YHWH must be satan right? Oh what a silly question, of course he is…

@Everyone, Noticed how the Jesusians here most of the time tries to change the topic by inserting an unrelated subject when discussing the topic at hand? Often happens when they get cornered…lol… #CowardiceForChrist

  2. forgot to mention that jews think the “new covenant ” is complete and utter bs, they don’t think torah is “old”
so all the mention on how to conduct war still applies

crosstians forget about this one hahah

Considering contradictions, when Ecclesiastes 3:3 states there is “a time to kill”, does that mean all killing? animal slaughter? something else? Does this verse contradict the Commandment?

Even believers in the ten commandments often say that in times of war all bets are off.

First, I’m going to challenge a claim you made where did Muhammad(saw) “bless the killing of the elderly, children and the rape of war captives”?

    Forbidden to kill indiscriminately
Sulaiman bin Buraidah reported on his father’s authority The Prophet(ﷺ) said “Fight in the name of Allaah and in the path of Allaah and with him who disbelieves in Allaah fight and do not be treacherous and do not be dishonest about booty and do not deface (in killing) and do not kill a child.” (Abu Dawood Sahih)

‘Abd Allaah bin (mas’ud) said “A woman was found slain in one of the battles of the Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ). The Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ) forbade to kill women and children. (Sunan Abi Dawud 2668) Sahih by Al Abani
    https://sunnah.com/abudawud/15

“According to a report narrated by al-Bayhaqi in as-Sunan al-Kubra (17934): “Do not kill children or women or old men.”
    https://islamqa.info/en/248850

Oh you who believe, be careful when you go to fight in God’s cause…differentiate between friend and foe, and remember that God always knows what you are up to. (4:94)

    Can’t rape:

“A governmental male-slave tried to seduce a slave-girl from the Khumus of the war booty till he deflowered her by force against her will; therefore ‘Umar flogged him according to the law, and exiled him, but he did not flog the female slave because the male-slave had committed illegal sexual intercourse by force, against her will.”
    https://sunnah.com/bukhari/89/10

Abu al-Hussain bin al-Fadhl al-Qatan narrated from Abdullah bin Jaffar bin Darestweh from Yaqub bin Sufyan from al-Hassab bin Rabee from Abdullah bin al-Mubarak from Kahmas from Harun bin Al-Asam who said: Umar bin al-Khatab may Allah be pleased with him sent Khalid bin al-Walid in an army, hence Khalid sent Dharar bin al-Auwzwar in a squadron and they invaded a district belonging to the tribe of Bani Asad. They then captured a pretty bride, Dharar liked her hence he asked his companions to grant her to him and they did so. He then had sexual intercourse with her, when he completed his mission he felt guilty, and went to Khalid and told him about what he did. Khalid said: ‘I permit you and made it lawful to you.’ He said: ‘No not until you write a message to Umar’. (Then they sent a message to Umar) and Umar answered that he (Dharar) should be stoned. By the time Umar’s message was delivered, Dharar was dead. (Khalid) said: ‘Allah didn’t want to disgrace Dharar’ ( Sunan Al Bayhaqi, Volume 2, page 363, Hadith no. 18685)

    Imam Maalik said:
In our view the man who rapes a woman, regardless of whether she is a virgin or not, if she is a free woman he must pay a “dowry” like that of her peers, and if she is a slave he must pay whatever has been detracted from her value. The punishment is to be carried out on the rapist and there is no punishment for the woman who has been raped, whatever the case. (Imam Maalik, Al-Muwatta’, Volume 2, page 734)

    Imam Al Shaafi’i said:
“If a man acquires by force a slave-girl, then has sexual intercourse with her after he acquires her by force, and if he is not excused by ignorance, then the slave-girl will be taken from him, he is required to pay the fine, and he will receive the punishment for illegal sexual intercourse.” (Imam Al Shaafi’i, Kitaabul Umm, Volume 3, page 253)

Now that we cleared that up you said:
“The fruits of islam are reflected in the actions of the militias.”

You’re trying to claim some “moral high ground” regarding Muhammad(saw) fighting wars however the Bible claims that prophets literally killed unarmed women and children.
I’m asking then what are the “fruits” of Joshua(as) (whom you agree is a prophet) genocide when taking the Holy Land? You believe God (and by extension, Jesus) ordered the killing of unarmed women and children. So the only “sin” involved here is that the Prophet(saw) didn’t commit genocides according to the Bible. Why do you think God and Jesus ordered surrendering women and children to be killed Joel? Isn’t that much more Satanic?
